I've decided to start my blog again as it makes a good journal for the year and having tried Facebook for a while, which is useful, it's not the same as a blog.
We had a great time in Norfolk at New Year. The weather there was lovely despite the snow, which made it all the more beautiful. We didn't use the car the whole time, accept to get there and back. I love having a period when you don't need to get in car.
The best walk we had was on New Year's Day, along the wall to the beach, walked to Holkham up through the park and back to Overy Staite.
We also walked to the Lord Nelson at Burham Thorpe on the Saturday and had lunch. The staff there are very friendly and looked after us well. Unfortunately, some friends who came up for the day for the walk, managed to slide of the road into a ditch on their way home. They are OK but the car is a write-off I think.
This weekend we are at home hunkering down and keeping warm and doing those sort of jobs that have been put off for weeks, ie. ironing, hand-washing and sorting out 'stuff'. Also putting the Christmas decs away for another year. I'm itching to get on with the garden but I can't even pull the leeks up at the moment as the ground is so hard.
